Alpine County has had a Mutual Aid Agreement with Douglas County, Nevada for
longer than I've been doing broadcast in Nevada! DCSO dispatches for ACSO
and the Douglas County CAP COG includes Alpine County. The county line goes
down the east side of the Carson Valley, which is in Douglas County, not
Carson City. DCSO is the backup for Alpine, all the way up the summit to
Kirkwood, and the bar there. Alpine and Douglas could write the book about
Mutual Aid!

There is a famous bar on Highway 88 in the CA Sierras near Kirkwood Ski
Resort.  Three county borders converge on this bar.  Depending on what part
of the parking lot the bar fight is in a different deputy has jurisdiction.
Most of the time the closest deputy of any county breaks up the fight and
then they have to decide which jail to haul the drunks off to.
