There is a famous bar on Highway 88 in the CA Sierras near Kirkwood Ski
Resort. Three county borders converge on this bar. Depending on what
part of the parking lot the bar fight is in a different deputy has
jurisdiction. Most of the time the closest deputy of any county breaks
up the fight and then they have to decide which jail to haul the drunks
off to.

On a different subject, Alpine County has a 100% interoperable radio
system. They have ONE repeating pair that is shared with the Sheriff
and the volunteer fire department. One time I was headed up there heard
"S2" (the undersheriff) come up on the radio and announce that he was
rolling the VFD heavy rescue to an accident.
