I take strong exception to Dave Turnmire's post, below (in part). Sean
Donelan's post is accurate but adds no new information.

Dave Turnmire: ".Which is why I always thought the military was partially
responsible

for the Hawaii ICMB incident... but largely has been given a pass"

Yes, Hawaii EM is part of Hawaii DOD -- administratively. But it's run and
staffed by civilian employees. To my knowledge, the Hawaii National Guard
has nothing to do with EM's day-to-day operations (or its mistakes). No
uniformed military officer was involved. You can't be "given a pass" for
something you weren't responsible for. So I again challenge Dave to tell us
how the military was "partially responsible." Unless he can do so, I submit
that his comments were both inaccurate and unfair.

Dave also assigns blame here with a broad brush. "The military" includes
the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and their Reserve and
Guard components. And that personally frosts me. I suggest being a little
more careful with the use of words.
