There was a flurry of Comments filed by last Tuesday's NPRM deadline, including one filer's Comments received a day late but still posted.

As of today, we have only 11 days left to file Reply Comments.
Some of the Comments that I thought might elicit Reply Comments are:
- NWS proposal "on incorporating WEA and other public alerting systems as part of each State EAS Plan."
- Washington State SECC: "We strongly encourage establishment of a mechanism that SECCs could share their best practices" - sounds like a great idea to support - for upcoming new CSRIC Working Group?
- ACA Connects proposes that SECCs should maintain an up-to-date list of EAS Participants in their State EAS Plan.
- NYC Emergency Management disagrees with FCC's plan for Alert Originators to repeat alerts, instead wanting EAS Encoder/Decoder modifications for EAS units to repeat alerts.

Please don't just get here on the EAS email list and preach to the choir on ideas you disagree (or agree) with - PLEASE FILE COMMENTS. If the FCC hears no opposition to an idea, they'll think we all agree. You need file only a single page of Reply Comments - not complicated.

FYI, there are numerous Comments from primarily organizations representing cable and LPFM that are concerned about the FCC's plan to take down their links to State EAS Plans once ARS is active and then saying ARS info will be "presumed confidential" and will not be accessible to EAS Participants. It is therefore becoming increasingly obvious that the info SECCs submit into ARS will be for FCC use only, and SECCs will need to continue to host their own State EAS Plan online as they do now so EAS Participants maintain access to that info - I would expect an FCC Public Notice to be issued to SECCs in that regard, something I will propose in my Reply Comments.
