stations are operating on a shoestring and comparing them to a larger
commercial operation is a bit un-fair. Then again, there are plenty of major
stations that frequently get nailed by the Commish for violation of this or
that rule? It would be helpful if the FCC had a rules and regs service
that provided every licensee with all the information they need to stay out
of trouble coupled with a clear understanding that if there is a violation,
they will be held accountable...

Everyone, this information is available, starting with the FCC's Broadcast
Self Inspection Checklists and continuing through the state broadcaster
associations, the SECC, industry groups, trade journals and various
resources found online. And at least some people are finding it. Over the
past year I've been contacted by the operators of newly minted LPFM stations
who wanted to make sure they were operating according to the FCC Rules. If
the small, LPFM stations in a rural, Western state are finding help, anyone
who wants information can find it. Large or small, it starts with someone
who really wants to operate by the book.
