Thanks to Dave for injecting some humor into this discussion.  

But let's be serious:  NSA does, in fact, work with other federal agencies
that need COMSEC support.  

The EAN security concerns expressed here are a national problem and demand a
national solution.  This means federal, professional experts must be
involved..  That definition does not include those of us in this forum, but
it's a perfect fit for NSA --- which not only breaks codes, but MAKES codes
and has lots of experience in verification protocols.

BTW:  You shouldn't believe everything you hear, see, or read about alleged
NSA misdeeds.  Even if you do, NSA is the only agency that can successfully
address the technical parts of this issue on a national level.  

I repeat:  FEMA and the FCC should consult with NSA.  I urge people in this
forum who have some federal horsepower to strongly suggest that
consultation.
