[EAS] NWS/CG Interference in NY area

As an ex Frequency Surveillance tech from White Sands Missile Range I agree with
Bill's Statements -

"From what I have heard it is a second order intermod product."
"likely in the Federal 160 MHz VHF band"

"FCC does not have jurisdiction"
"federal law enforcement...said "Not my problem"."
"USCG techs have no jurisdiction"

Let me describe another similar situation:
We were launching a Pershing II (Nuclear Intercontinental Ballistic Missile)
from WSMR.
There was interference with the guidance commands.
The missile (controlled) crash landed South of Juarez Mexico... No boom, but big
international incident.
We detected and traced the interference to the Las Cruces Police Dept dispatch
Radio.
The MP's went into the police department headquarters with fully automatic
weapons and locked down the station.  They then found and confiscated the
offending radio.  The problems ended after that.

Doesn't the coast guard have a similar unit?
