Larry: I already received an apology from CHP, it was a new guy who did not know that we do not activate EAS for a Blue Alert. I have full assurance that it was a mistake and will not happen again. The California Broadcasters Association and your State SECC was able to make Blue Alerts an EDIS informational item as we do not want too many alerts!

>Our Sacramento radio station received a "Blue Alert" issued by NWS at the request of the CHP on Tuesday at 10:47AM. It was sent as a "Child Abduction Emergency," but the recorded message identified it as a "Blue Alert." Our San Francisco station did not receive the alert. As far as I know the California state plan does not include Blue Alerts. I had the operator kill the alert before it automatically aired. The LP1 and LP2 stations both carried the alert.
>I'm not sure I have a question here. I just feel the system operates by different rules, at different times, in different counties and that leads to confusion on the part of our operators.
>Cheers,
