Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) Practitioner Webinar
Increasing Resiliency in Our Communities through IPAWS
Wednesday November 14, 2012 12:00 Noon Eastern, 11:00 Central
IPAWS facilitates timely delivery of alert and warning information over
more media to more people before, during, and after a disaster through the
capability to integrate existing alert and warning systems at all levels
of governance to create a more resilient system for all of our
communities.
During IPAWS' next Webinar, Manny Centeno, IPAWS Program Manager, and Mark
Lucero, IPAWS Engineering Branch Chief, of the IPAWS Program Management
Office, will give a planning and operations perspective of how to best
integrate IPAWS into your own alert and warning system through usage,
training, exercise, governance and technology selection/ requirements.
Mark will further demonstrate the role that IPAWS can play in your local
community through a case study of Kansas City, where two states, 15
counties and multiple alerting authorities have jurisdiction. Mike Gerber
from the National Weather Service will also present WEA Lessons Learned.
This presentation is intended primarily for emergency management
practitioners and other interested IPAWS stakeholders. Please make plans
to join us, and as always, your questions and comments are welcome.
