Tom,

As well; Trilithic EAS Encoder/Decoders have been tested and certified
to comply with the FCC rules for EAS Encoder/Decoders. Trilithic EASyCAP
software, in conjunction with Trilithic EAS Encoder/Decoders, has passed
the IPAWS Compliance Assessment program and has been found to conform to
the CAP Protocol, the IPAWS profile, and ECIG recommendations for CAP to
EAS conversion. The three aforementioned standards were adopted by FEMA
for CAP/IPAWS compliance. The EASyCAP software and Trilithic EAS
Encoder/Decoders communicate using an Ethernet based intermediary
protocol that allows the two products to behave as a single, cohesive
unit. This interface allows CAP information such as the CAP Description
and Instruction text, as well as Gubernatorial Must-Carry information to
be transferred seamlessly to the EAS Encoder/Decoder for processing.
This arrangement has several advantages; it allows the EASyCAP
software/computer that needs to access the Internet to be located in a
security buffer zone, away from the administrative network in which the
Encoder/Decoder usually resides. It also allows the EASyCAP
software/computer to act as a CAP queue and aggregator, servicing
multiple CAP sources and disseminating the CAP messages to multiple
Encoder/Decoders over an internal network. The two components provide
all the capability of a single, integrated CAP/EAS unit while allowing
for enhanced security and a single management point for CAP feeds. It
also allows for the rapid integration of new CAP sources without the
need to alter the EAS Encoder/Decoder each time a new CAP feed become
available.

Dom

Tom - In answer to your question, yes absolutely, the DASDEC is fully
FCC Part 11 certified. Our FCC EAS certification information is in some
of our literature at our website.

For what its worth, I will be speaking later this week at a Federal Bar
Communications Association luncheon, hosted by the NAB. The relevant
responsible parties from both Federal agencies are also slated to be
speaking at the round table. It should be lively to say the least.
