I'm just going to follow up on Richard's notes with a request to
all of you who want to make a difference in the EAS CAP and NPRM, etc
There are two things you can do. One right now, one soon.
1. Invite someone to join this list.
lists.radiolists.net/mailman/listinfo/eas
The more folks we have on board, the more impact we will have.
2. When we get to the right point, please file a comment with the
FCC... even if it is just a short, informal comment. We will
provide details of how to do it easily - but not put words
in your mouth (fingers).
Yes, there is a lot of cynicism about EAS. We know there are staff
at the FCC and FEMA who want to help, but often are inhibited
by the politics of their agency or bureaucratic bosses who would
rather pass time until retirement than solve a problem.
Since the BWWG is not connected with any bureaucratic group,
we are hoping to be able to find a "voice" that will address
issues in a way that remembers what broadcasting is, and
how it operates.
Can you help the group?
