On certain levels that makes sense, but on other
levels, we are back to issuing Rules, finable Rules,
without considering how stations really operate,
and being on Mt. Olympus, never clarifying anything.

I will note one point I made in my editorial this week:
all too often, when you spend the time and effort
to seek out an answer, the best you will get is
"it was addressed in a matter sometime." Rather
than provide simple answers to common questions,
the FCC staff seems to prefer stations patronize
        the DC Communications Law firms.

That is not fair to honest operators in small
markets who should not be spending money
to reinvent wheels - to get information that
        should be available easily.

... or am I wrong and every station (other than
the ones where I have worked) actually has
para-legals on staff to research and report
        on all these things?
