You raise a good point. 

That leads me to one of the things I personally hope come out of a revised Part 11 -- simplified EAS logging requirements for licensees using capabilities built in to new EAS devices.

However, if the output of CAP converters goes to existing EAS boxes, it would appear that a CAP converter will not be aware of SAME EAS messages. 

So, if you use a CAP converter in conjunction with an existing EAS device, it looks like you would have to pull reports from two devices to comply with Part 11 logging requirements.

One of the other things I hope comes out of this when the dust settles is that the requirement for RWT's would go away. RWT's were never a good test of EAS since they do not simulate a real EAS event by having embedded audio (like an RMT).
