I really don't understand that one. That Kommercial drives me Krazy. Unless I am in the shower, I used to just turn off the radio, but now I have a choice, so I switch t the much less familiar CBS owned WNEW. As time goes on, I am becoming more comfortable with WNEW and soon I will have no more use for WTOP.
I am a citizen lobbyist before the Virginia Legislature. Back in January, a carpool of five of us were on our way down I-95 to Richmond. That Krappy Kommercial Kame on the air. I punched up WNEW, but we were too far south. I shut off the radio. The other men in the car started by thanking me for killing it, the a discussion ensued wondering why WTOP wanted to run everyone away.
About a month ago my wife and I were having dinner with an old friend and WNEW came up in Konversation. I said I was warming up to ten but that I had been a WTOP listener for so long it was hard to make the switch. I said I wouldn't be listening to WNEW, except when driving to Plili, were it not for WTOP driving me away. Our friends, who knows nothing about radio beyond being really good at fixing them, said, "Kars for Kids." Now, tell me how it Kan be so universally hated, yet remains on the air? Kould it be possible that they are paying WTOP so much per spot that running off listeners doesn't matter.
OK, I do realize WTOP is the top billing station in the Kountry.
On the other hand, Kars for Kids will never get a Kar of a dime from me.
