Mike, you're the exception that proves the rule.  I am willing to
stipulate for the record that Chicago is a major media market.

I would imagine that most of the stations I worked for would have
frowned upon SBE membership/involvement for another reason...it would
have looked too much to them like opening a door for collective
bargaining.   You might go to a meeting and hear that somebody was
getting a living wage for the same work you performed, and they just
couldn't have that.
