Mike: Normally I would have 3 /1 kilowatt back-ups-- 2 v-1's and a BE STX. One V-1 is running as IPA for an HT-10 at a competitor's station, the BE is awaiting the return of an exciter board on Tuesday. At least I have a couple spare exciters & the VS2.5 on our smallest station, which will run off exciter until the BE is fixed and ferried up there.

And my business partner was driving our station van because his daughter--who is in nursing school in Wheeling--came down to visit her father & her car died. So she took his car--hence he was driving the station van up to Pittsburgh to return his son after weekend visitation when the electric died. Notice that there is a full moon today....

Anyway, the van almost made it to the Ford dealer, I loaned him my Malibu & drove home in my Focus (which I normally leave parked at the station because parking is limited on my street), and got a call back from Nautel on my way home.

Nelson-at Nautel--is also baffled, but was thinking it might be the fan in the 48 volt supply. Fan either not working or barely working, supply heats up, shuts down, transmitter logic turns transmitter off. Go hit the transmitter on, supply has a chance to cool down, runs for while until it heats up again.

Something to check tomorrow once everything is switched around. I would have thought that would show as a power supply fault, but maybe not..?

If it is the fan, that would be something I could actually fix.
