That's kind of what the V1 has....but apparently they farmed out the software design as well.
It's not a problem with the switch--I shorted the remote on connection to ground on the back....which holds the transmitter on, at least as far us carbon based life forms are concerned. Now, as one might expect, the "off" button has no effect. However.... it still manages to turn itself off, driven by some mysterious internal imperative. Getting to be about every 10~15 minutes or so.
I gave up & put a BE FX-50 on. No software. No intelligence, artificial or otherwise. Plug it into the wall, connect programming into it and connect the output through a short jumper to the 1/2" running to the coax switch.
Tomorrow when the rain stops I'll raid our VS2.5 from another station, put that station on an exciter. When my exciter board comes back from BE on Tuesday I'll haul that kilowatt from our third station to get the 2nd station up to half power.
On top of that, my business partner called--the station van's lost electrical power. Probably bad alternator/voltage regulator or something. Hopefully it will run 15 miles back to here so we can drop it at the Ford dealer.
