[BC] The things licensees get away with...

If you all recall, back on December 23rd, I posted on a local AM station
that has shut-down their transmitter but continues on as "Oldies 101.5 FM".

Yesterday, someone sent me the video that is now posted at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1Srg9WEPzw&feature=youtu.be inquiring into
why *my* AM is off-air and threatening to complain to the FCC! (I have
nothing at all to do with this operation and stay as far away from it as
possible because of activities just such as this. The translator in question
deviates well over + or - 150kHz. at *all* times and is processed through a
$65 Behringer!!!)

I'm beginning to see where this can become a nightmare for every operator in
the area and would like to see if there may be some pointers available on
how to not become involved in a sticky situation that may be brought onto
everyone in the area just because one or two local licensees don't adhere to
the rules.

Bottom line: Should I report this so that this does not become a matter of
"You kept quiet so, you must also be doing something wrong!"? Or, is it best
to see nothing, hear nothing and do nothing?

I generally avoid politics like the plague but, these things seem to take on
a life of their own and the fact that at least one person has threatened to
complain about our LPFM (not even associated with this illegal operation) by
mistakenly thinking that the translator is ours tells me that inaction may
not be a great line of action.

What would be the general consensus?
