In the late 70s a station in Kevin's general neighborhood automated both 
AM and FM. To keep the operation legal they established a telephone 
answering and alarm monitoring service. It was in an area just outside 
the room containing the automation. The remote control and public file 
were at the telephone answering position. That said the stations were 
just an automation system playing into the transmitter.
