Radio Engineering is glamorous... NOT

IT is much better... NOT

IT people have the same stresses as BE's - work on it 'till it's fixed or
else. Debug it until perfect. Send the jobs overseas where Hadji will work
longer hours for half the pay and no benefits. Militaristic management, or
management with something to prove (the worst of all). Rush to try the
latest thing that likely won't work correctly for the first year and a half.
Pushing out software inadequately designed and tested that causes the CEO to
go ballistic that his latest "Next Generation" project is an embarrassment
at the country club.

You probably won't come in contact with 5 KV or take a bath in PCB's but
after a few years you'll wish you had.

I can count a dozen IT people out of the small group I know that burned out,
some in their early 20's, some in their 40's and 50's that ran like hell
when they were laid off or asked to relocate or simply took the opportunity.

Please don't confuse IT with career satisfaction!

...and then goes and gets a job in IT or somewhere with fixed hours, good
benefits, and no oil-filled HV power supplies.
