I'm not surprised.

Also - like many of you, I have been responsible for the station office 
IT stuff.
That's caused as much after-hours and extra-hours work as anything else.
I don't see why any IT job which has any user contact at all should be 
any different.

The loss of the LAN or the internet can every bit as show-stopping as 
the loss of the transmitter.

 From time to time I longingly remembered the days when we (or the 
office manager) used to call the typewriter mechanic or copier or 
telephone repairman and let them handle it.
Not any more....
