Craig:
I think the problem you are encountering may be that the Moseley unit does not pass the the auxiliary bits in the AES stream. As you may be aware there are various bits available in the AES word for PRO/CONSUMER, USER, COPY, etc. If the Moseley unit does not pass the PRO/CON bit your switcher or the processor may not recognize it. I know that Moseley had an issue with some of the early Star Link systems where this was a problem because in order to conserve bandwidth they stripped out the auxiliary bits but later units had a fix for it. I am not sure what the situation for the older unit is however. Our company solved this problem with our switcher product line by making sure that this bit is inserted upon output from our device even if it is not present on the input. We also can accept a consumer or pro stream from an AES device.
I would give Dave Chancey at Moseley a call and ask about this. In addition, if you would like some information about our solutions for STL switching which include AES/EBU, L/R and composite input contact me off line and I will be happy to provide you with information about our ATB/GPM/DAB audio switcher product line.

At one of my clients we decided to use AES/EBU digital audio from the STL output. It comes from an older Moseley DSP6000D to a Titus 3 DRX switcher, and then to the Orban processor. The cable is only a few feet long with XLR connectors.
Problem is, the Moseley AES/EBU is not detected by either the Titus or Orban units. Both will detect a wide range of speeds which includes the Moseley 32KHz rate. The internally created output from the Titus is accepted by the Orban, and a separate digital input is detected by the Titus. Both of those do work on inputs, just not with the Moseley outputs.
There are two Moseley DSP6000D units, main and backup. Neither are detected by the Titus or Orban units. I took some 'scope pictures of the DSP6000D outputs and they do appear OK according to the Moseley tech. I've had a number of phone and email conversations with the Moseley tech and he feels the units are OK. There are no settings or adjustments within the DSP6000D that affect the digital output. I did get a return authorization, but they feel it wouldn't help.
The appropriate tech people at all three companies have been helpful with suggestions, but nothing has worked. I have no problem with them at all.
So, my question is, does anyone have a situation where this particular Moseley unit is connected to either a Titus or Orban box and it works? Has anyone had a similar problem where it didn't work?
