Dave,
When did it have more than 50kW TPO? The previous owner was Luis
Carrillo and nothing at the transmitter site changed under Ed Noble.
There was an old GE 50kW and a 50kW Continental 317 (serial #1, I'm
told) . When I was there the day pattern was almost a figure 8 from
Mazatlan to the Canadian border, pretty tight with the main lobe to
the North.. At night it pulled in from the East. TPO was the same,
day and night. I'm assuming you mean ERP. The fulltime day mode ended
before I got there. I'd get calls from Yuma that the signal suddenly
disappeared when the pattern was supposed to change. I can't imagine
Luis paying for a larger transmitter. If he could trade it out, maybe.

Were there ever transmitters there larger than 50? Everyone thought
the power was higher than 50 but I could never find documentation or
anyone who remembered it being higher until it went to 77kW days.
People also thought we were Wolfman Jack's station.

Weren't you part of the Continental's installation? Are you sure
you're not hiding a 500kw monster in your basement?

Rich
