Federal Radio built Am-Fm-TV equipment into the early 1950s. WSM TV on Channel 6 then later Channel 4 used a Federal TV transmitter. WSM-FM has a Federal FM transmitter until the moved it to backup operation by buying a Gates FM-20H transmitter. I would assume that they were capable of building and built all types of broadcast equipment. I know that Mr. Weldon of Continental while managing the USA Government broadcasting that became the VOA purchased several Federal Radio & Telephone Co. 150 kW. Short-wave rigs and put them in service.
