If you are encoding at bitrates that high you will have better results
with MPEG I Layer II (MP2) or OGG rather than layer III (MP3). MP3 is
best when you are trying to squeeze the most out of a small pipe. When
using higher bitrates (256k and above) MP3 has diminishing returns
compared to MP2 or OGG.
