Rick,

I suppose there are a lot of things that could cause what you're 
describing, but one of the biggest problems is the power connector - 
that little round thing.  Make sure the display isn't 
flickering.  That's a common indication of a dirty, lose or moving 
power plug.  I have a Hotline and a Matrix.  They have a little clamp 
thingy to dress the power cable through on the back of the Matrix 
near the power connector.  I've seen the plug issue cause what you're 
describing.  When they're new, it only happens once-in-a-while.  As 
they get older and the plugs become warn and dirty it happens a lot 
more often.  So, be sure and use the little clampy thing.
