Of course you do, since HD Radio uses much lower bitrate. As I'm sure
you know, typically it's 48 kbps. The SBR-enabled codec that HD Radio
uses does help to preserve the wide frequency range, but at the
expense of always artificial, metallic sound of the high band. It's a
trick that works much better than any other solution, but still a
trick with the down side.
You can't beat physics - very low bitrates means you must be
sacrificing something...
