 Mike's advice is sound.
 Linux *is* stable.
 WinXP is "more stable" than WinXXX and the same can be
 said of Win7. ( aka partially debugged revised Vista )
 "More stable" and "stable" are different things.

 I would say that WinCE-3.x is also stable.
