The person who made the claim was emulating the Pope's infallibility.
That's not surprising. What he failed to tell us was that the HD-2
was carried on real radio. There was no mention of the translator,
leading us to gaspingly assume an HD-2 was producing income. I'm
going to go way out on a limb and jokingly suggest there might be
1,000 IBUZ receivers in the Washington Metro. I'm going even further
out on that limb and make believe all 1,000 IBUZ receivers are tuned
to WAMU-HD2.

Compare that to the million or so analog receivers able to receive
the translator if its signal reaches them. Which one would you
believe is generating the revenue? Would it be from listeners tuned
directly to HD-2 or to the translator? I've started the timer. You
have 10 seconds to come up with the most probable answer. I'll give
you a hint. Virtually everyone in the metro owns an analog FM receiver.

The HD-2 is the STL for the translator.
