>I never spent a dime or time troubleshooting complaints from CATV users.

I once had Comcast in Danbury, CT call me
regarding a complaint from one of their customers
near our WDAQ site. He was receiving our station
on his CSPAN2. Comcast replaced his drop line
and trunk section. No change. The customer was
threatening to call the FCC, etc. I went to the
house with the Comcast tech who I knew. The
customer was not home.

I asked what the center frequency of their CSPAN2
was. Something like 97.5 MHz, well within our freq
of 98.3. I asked the tech if he could see our signal on
his SA at various taps if the CSPAN2 modulator
was turned off. He said "yes". I told him the problem
was a faulty cable since ingress and egress will occur
if a shield, etc. were open.

A few months later I was talking with the tech again. I
asked if that CSPAN2 matter was resolved. It was.
The house next door had aluminum siding installed.
The shield of the Comcast coax was pierced by a
stapler in 3 spots, causing the siding to be in
electrical contact. Drop line replaced, problem solved.
