I think you're overreacting, to say the least. To make a major change 
like this and expect perfection from the very first block of the first 
newscast is asking quite a bit. Given the circumstances, I'm comfortable 
believing that their engineers (at least, the ones left after the 
layoffs) did everything reasonably possible to check before airtime.

Besides, the article suggested the problems were with the cable company, 
not the stations. It said *some* viewers were affected. If it was a 
problem with the way the station was transmitting, it would be *all*. If 
you wanted to suggest that this was typical of cable company ineptitude 
and/or indifference, I'd be more willing to accept that.
