I completely agree with Richard B. More likely than not, this is a very 
fine example of bean counters calling the shots rather than engineers. 
When it comes to a RIF (reduction in forces), it should start with bean 
counters, not the engineers who keep the stations in business. Beyond 
that, the stations need to hire competent engineers, not the least 
stoned kid in the WalMart parking lot. Don't laugh. I worked at a 
station where that happened just prior to my joining them. He didn't 
last very long after I was on board.
