Edited to correct my brain fart.
AH, there may be another way to go, not that I think an STL should be
over DSL.
"Resellers" like Speakeasy will often provide customers with service
beyond what the LEC will. Before a court decision that changed my
situation, I could not get DSL at my home because of "distance" even
though the actual distance from the fiber slick was less than 800 feet.
Speakeasy would provide me service, though it wasn't inexpensive.
Look for CLECs that will service you.
