 It's been my habit many years now, to "hide" somewhere in the project
 budget, a collection of common tools to be left at the site, usually
 Harbor Freight junk, but something just for situations as you describe,
 so that you don't *really* have to carry anything at all, hopefully.

 Truthfully, I never actually hide anything in any budget, but try to
 work in some of the things seldom thought of if they're not in the
 budget already, like a first aid kit. unless specificly told not to.
