[BC] March

My goodness!

What is that deal about March coming in like a lion and leaving as a
lamb? Those of you in the NE must be hoping for the end of March already. <g>

Seriously, though, just a quick note to say thanks for everyone's
sharing info and experiences. It was especially nice to know from
those who were there that Paul Harvey was more than an ego.

Not too much to say this month. A lot of the regular stuff is going
on. Tech-Assist and Tech-Zone (www.radiolists.net) have both been
fairly quiet in the past month, likely due to everyone being so busy
getting ready for the HDTV changeover. <gggg>

A couple of good things to report on the list.
	1. Despite incoming mail now pushing 98% spam,
the filters are doing a fair job. We are
aware that a couple of IP blocks are
causing a few of you problems - and
we are working to see what we can
		do to prevent hassles.

In case you find posting to be a problem
(all it takes is one kid or 'bot machine on
		your block), you may use
00002 at spam-o-matic.com as an alternate
		address for the list.

Thanks to Cowboy for setting this up.

	2. The content filters seem to be doing ok, too.
They prevented three "Digests" from being
sent into the list as quotes (by error). While
		excessive duplication still happens on
occasion, the general feedback we are
getting is that the list looks cleaner than
		many others.

.. and we have been pretty successful in
getting rid of the AOL, hotmail, yahoo,
etc ads, as well as repeated ads.

Finally, a minor comment on the job mess. The current economic issues
have caused layoffs to include some of the readers on the list.
Inevitably, especially with the current method of firing people -
escorting them to the door - bad addresses happen and it may be hard
to find folks who have left their current job.

If you know of someone who has been pushed out a door, moved on their
own account, or who should just be on the list, please let them know
that www.radiolists.net is the place to subscribe or change their addresses.

The more folks we have along, sharing, the more we all benefit.

thanks to all for your support of BC!
barry
