OK Chip, happy to give props where they're due. It was a great gathering too.

I kept my original posting simple saying "Hamfest" only because the object of my pursuit was the mic, not necessarily the sponsor of the event, and this list goes far beyond where some readers might be familiar with Northern VA. 

But having called it to my attention, I recommend anyone in the DC area and beyond to attend any event when Vienna is at the throttle. They do a killer annual Field Day as well at Burke Lake Park in Virginia; which, given a whole different set of circumstances decades ago, might have ended up as Dulles Airport. You'll have to look that one up yourself, though.
