If it's XP, Windows on the drive you moved may not want to boot, 
because it's a different motherboard and CPU--Windows might think 
it's an illegal copy. IIRC, there are ways around that, but it's a pain...

Have you tried making that drive a slave, and setting it up as a "D" 
(or other letter) drive? That would let you recover your files. Or, 
get one of those trays (or whatever they call them) that lets you 
mount an IDE drive inside it, and then connect it to a USB port on 
another computer...
