[BC] Soldering D-sub Pins

This thread is fascinating. I've learned a lot about the how and why of
these connectors and techniques.
I prefer the machined crimp contacts. Even had a special tool (not the $500
one!) to crimp them. But I gave up using them because of their price and
availability. Minimum price I could find on them was about 25 cents per
contact. And even finding them was difficult. The best source I found was a
place called Altex Electronics.
Anyone have a good source for the machined crimp contacts?
