And THAT is why you have that low opinion of AudioVault, my friend. ;)

Since I installed it in 1997, it was performing flawlessly. The only
non-operator-induced errors we experienced with the system were a
faulty motherboard
(which was no fault of the AV system or BE) and the occasional *Windows*
related "DUH?!". Thus began the weekly "hygenic reboots". That brought the
Windows-related "DUH?!" incidents to zero.

Since I have zero experience with it in a music-based format, my knowledge of
the system there is very limited, so I can't really address that aspect of it.

Now, setting it up to do all of the following *simultaneously*:

1) Via serial ports, command a pair of satellite receivers AND a pair of
BTools switchers to get as many as three simultaneous satellite feeds,
2) While playing back on-air,
3) Switching to join/unjoin Network news
4) Hosting *two* simultaneous analog dubbing sessions
5) A Cool Edit session...

I did it. More than once! :) AV never even flinched. (But I did! Heh heh)
Seriously, though, I HAVE done that more than once, in crunches.

For a station with a recorded program-intensive format, I would spec AV again
in a heartbeat!
