[BC] All gen - all the time

Okay, I have to chime in on this one....during the summer of 2006, I 
was the acting CE for this station while a new Chief was being sought.

I spent many interesting days at that site, and yes, there was no 
commercial power. We had a pair of air cooled gen sets, German 
manufacture (I forget the name, but it'll probably come to me in the 
middle of the night) and when they worked, they worked great. When 
they didn't....well, Las Vegas in the summer is not a good place to 
be, especially with no air conditioning.

Another interesting fact about this site was the "stealth towers". 
Strobed (only the outer two), but painted in such a way that if you 
didn't know where to look, you'd never see them.

Very interesting site-and a good place to test drive 4x4 trucks. It's 
a challenge getting out there.

There's a college being built out there, and I suppose they'll 
finally get commercial service one of these days.
