Moving to Indiana wouldn't do you any good, anyway - we started using
DST about 6 months (that spring) before the nonsense changes from DC
kicked in...
Personally, I think ALL DST should be eliminated. Who benefits? Not
the kids waiting for the bus in the dark... not the AM stations -
whether ND-D, or DA-N, or DA-2... not ANYONE who works... it's been
shown that accidents INCREASE when the time change kicks in. Of
course, Congresscritters DON'T work... Drive-in movie theaters didn't
benefit; kinda hard to show an outdoor movie before sunset... and if
sunset's at 9 PM...
So, yeah - the NEW dates are stupid... the OLD dates were
stupid! ANY date is stupid!
DST is like the old mountain man who got a new blanket. When he
pulled it up under his chin, his feet stuck out. So, being SMART!!!,
he decided to cut several inches off the top, and sew them to the bottom.
I don't care WHAT games you play with the clock... Earth still takes
23 hours, 59 minutes and 50 odd seconds to make one turn... ain't
NOTHING Man can do to change that. You want more "daylight" in the evening?
TURN ON THE LIGHTS!!!!!!! Mr. Edison SOLVED that problem over 100 years ago!!!!
SHEESH! </rant> (I warned ya...)
