[BC] Converting Scott files

If I understand your original post you are trying to pull audio off of CD's
and not out of a computer library.
Just a thought you might be able to use Audiograbber and the LAME Encoder to
pull the audio off the original load CD's for the Scott Studio system.
Or if they are stored in a computer then try copying 1 file to another
computer and then experiment with changing the .DSS extension to another
type like mp2 or wma and see if that works.
When I converted our old Smartcasters library (they were pure DOS) I changed
the file extension from the .WAV that wouldn't read to .MP2 which Cool Edit
was able to read and then I could work with the audio. Once you figure out
what to change 1 file to you should be able to Batch Convert the entire
library to the extension you need.
Warning: If Scott Studios is anything like Smartcaster then you will have 2
files for each cut, one holds the audio wave form like .WAV and the other is
a Tag file that holds all the Data for that track.
When I did the Smartcaster I told the system to search for a particular
Cart# so I could verify that I had 2 files for each track IE. M1234.WAV
mated to M1234.SPT
Wav = Audio and SPT = Data
I then converted the audio file from .WAV to .MP2 and used the output TXT
file from the running Smartcaster to re-apply the Data to it's original
CART#'s and I had a new library I could work with.
That library is now running on 2 Arrakis Xtreme Automation Systems.
Let me know if this helps.
