[BC] Western water issues

MOST homes in Las Vegas do not have pools. There are a lot, but the number
is close to 30%. That does not qualify as MOST. The biggest water users (at
least according to the propaganda that we always heard) are the residents
who water their lawns. The casinos are not the biggest users... I always
thought that was a load of crap myself. Water is a HUGE issue there and the
fact that Lake Mead is 100 feet below normal doesn't help. I grew up there
and the lake wasn't scary when I was a kid. I wouldn't dip my feet in it
now. It's grotesque.

Otherwise known as a "water storage facility." Once it is filled, the only
need for more water is to replace that lost due to evaporation. That can be
nearly eliminated by using a pool cover.
And the water that goes down your drain doesn't simply disappear. It goes
to a wastewater treatment facility and is recycled. We have come a long way
in 100 years.
