I agree that there is more than just playing music over the radio. I am 
not so sure about all the nostalgia. If one is going to the effort to 
re-build an AM rig for HF, they could for about the same effort build a 
solid state PDM  class e TX  that would be much more future proof AND 
sound better by the prevailing standards.
