         That is absolutely the truth ... and far too many
         stations ... especially those now running IBOC ...
         are NOT monitoring their programming.

         After all, how could they? There is usually one
         engineer for five or six stations. And the
         air people have no reason to listen. If something
         goes wrong, the engineer will "magically" discover
         and fix it. Otherwise, I've heard HD-2 stations run
         dead air for weeks, and I've heard distorted audio
         run for days and days.

         One station went through morning drive one day
         with a "frozen" exciter on the IBOC ...  and no
         one knew until about 9:30 that the entire program
         went to a potential audience of about 2.

         "It's not my job" ... is heard over and over from
         programming people.

         Until management realizes one tech cannot monitor
         seven stations 24/7, this will continue.
