The other main possibility I'm looking at is
Bantam type, but I'm worried that in ten years we'll be back where we are
now--unable to find replacement parts.

The normal contacts on the bantam jacks and plugs end up being a tiny +
cross of metal instead of the quarter inch type being two round contacts. The
claimed the "x" contact on the nrmals was better than the round circle contact
used on the 1/4" TRS jack strips.

The big problem with the bantham is the proximity of the wiring. With 96
jacks per fields the wiring get very tight.

I have seen then inused in many facilities for over 30 years. The other
disadvantage is the small legends, you just about have to use numbers to a tally
sheet.

We used the Bantams for stereo with the dual Bantam cords containing left and
right.
