Hmmm... that wasn't what I was saying, tho... What I meant was to let them 
get equivalent coverage. If a subsequent upgrade is possible, then let them do 
their homework and file for it when the time is right.

Because "Daytime" in winter is from after 7am until only ~4:30pm. (YMMV) That 
means a good portion of AM drive, and about half of PM drive is *gone*. For 
stations like WFIF, that time is cut even shorter when the atmosphere favors 
skywave and WTOP obliterates us even in our 10mv coverage area! (They do do this 
from time-to-time.)

Also, our society has changed quite a bit from those early days when AM was 
king. A lot more activity is going on 24/7 these days than was way back when, 
so nighttime audiences are somewhat larger. On the 24 hour stations in our 
Group, we have some programming that pays for those nighttime hours. They get good 
enough response to continue for several years, now.
