Define portable. Car radios are portable. They may be tough to stuff
in your pocket but they move from place to place. The Boston
Acoustics receiver is portable. Add a little red wagon and a small
Honda generator and it's portable. The generator is quiet so it won't
disturb fellow patrons at Starbucks. It'll kill them but do it
quietly. Ask Barry if he saw Sony's Buzman at CES.

Nothing about IBUZ is amazing except our acceptance of its interference.

Or New York did during the last 29 hour Eastern blackout. El Cheapo
radios still worked while phones went out early on. My sources tell
me portable devices as we normally define them can't be made until
the power requirements are lowered. Others tell me someone is working
on less demanding ones. I've yet to see anyone advertise a portable
device. We all know the advertising begins at the same time as the
design. The tabletops were being advertised nearly a year before they
(one of them) became available.

The real moneymakers will be the people who make little red wagons to
carry the batteries for portable devices.

I saw an interview with Howard Stringer, head of Sony on 60 minutes.
He didn't use the interview to introduce the Buzman. He did seem to
know what an iPod was.
