You mean, on top of all the other IBOC / IBUZ issues, there is no
portable option?

One of the best features of normal terrestrial analog radio is CHEAP
receivers - pack one in your car, your grab-kit, etc. I have an elcheapo
pocket radio that will proved 20-30 hours of use on 1 battery. Very handy
when you find yourself in some mode like LA did towards the end of last
year.
