[BC] Old Farts

Mike McCarthy Towers

While my f at rts still do stink, they'll really reak when I'm 20-25 years
older....and will drive them younginers nuts when I laugh and toot as I
climb the STL tower. Something few of them will ever have the enjoyment of
doing.

Seriously, the smart kids ask questions of us while we can still contribute
(are breathing). I've seen enough freshly minted grads come and go to know
which ones will be around for a while. It's usually those who ask
questions (there's never a dumb one if it's being asked seriously) and
avoid repeating mistakes made by previous people.

A while back I learned a very true "truism"

Smart people learn from their mistakes,
Intelligent people avoid making mistakes,
Enlightened people learn from other's experiences.

These lists are really good for the latter....
